Nutmeg Award Nominees
Har-Bur Middle School Suggested Titles
Lewis S. Mills High School Suggested Titles

* Har-Bur and Lewis S. Mills are doing free reading this summer, which means that students can choose to read whatever they like. These lists are provided only as a suggestion, to help spark ideas.

Students at Lewis Mills can also contribute to a Padlet. Below is a bit more information about Padlet from Lewis Mills Library Media Specialist, Gina West:

What is a Padlet ?

It will become the greatest electronic collection of summer reading books that Lewis Mills students will curate. After reading a great book(s) this summer, students will log on to the Padlet and post about one of the following topics: what stood out to them; what character they could relate to and why; why they would recommend this book (or not recommend it), etc. THEN they have a choice to either post a picture of the book they read, a picture of themselves with the book, OR a video of them talking about the book (using the choices listed above)! During the first week of school I will be holding a raffle for all participants in the Padlet! The more books read and entered on the Padlet, the more raffle tickets you earn! 1 ticket for the first entry, 2 tickets for the second entry, and so on… So if you read three books and posted, you easily earned 6 tickets!

Here is the LINK to the Padlet. It will also be sent out to students in Mills Newsletter emails from Mr. Rau, and I will remind students about it weekly on the Library Instagram page @West_Unshelved, where the link will be stored all summer.
