At the Library

Welcome to the Library!
The Harwinton Library is open to residents and non-residents alike. Items may be returned inside or through our Book Drop. We continue to offer curbside borrowing.

Computers are available for adults and children. The library has headphones and disposable headphone covers you can borrow. You are also welcome to bring your own headphones if you need to use computer audio.

2026 is off to a chilly start! Need something to ward off the winter doldrums? Stop in and have a look at the gorgeous display of cozy and colorful quilts from the Goshen Star Quilters! You’re sure to be inspired by the variety of designs and techniques; these quilts are truly works of art. The show runs through the end of February.

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to save money? A great way to cut down on your entertainment bills is to take advantage of the Library’s digital collections. We have eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming videos, downloadable magazines and comic books for all ages – and all are FREE for you to borrow with your library card! Unsure how to search and borrow from our digital items? Register for our upcoming Dive Into Downloadables! Program on January 29th. We’ll show you how to set up your account and introduce you to all of our digital collections.

Do these cold days have you dreaming of Spring? It’s not too soon to start planning your garden and thinking about spring flowers and summer vegetables. Join us for Seedy Saturday on February 7th when we officially open the Harwinton Grows Seed Library for the year! Borrow from our library of purchased and donated seeds – including locally harvested native plants. Follow our gardening programs all year long to learn how to start your own seeds and harvest seeds from your own yard and garden for next year’s planting.
