Spring Storytimes
Mid-April through First Week of June
Tuesday’s @ 10am or Thursday’s @ 10am
Read one book, sing songs, and learn! At the end of each session there will be a craft, scarf play, yoga, bubbles, and more! Each session is different!
Please register so we can reach everyone in case of a cancellation! Ages 0-5.
Homeschool storytimes

For ages 6-10.
One of our local homeschooling mom’s, Andrea Fitzpatrick, is providing a homeschooler storytime for homeschoolers in the area! All are welcome, of course, whether they are homeschooled or not!
Parents must attend with their kids.

April 25th @ 11am Family Fairy Terrarium Craft
Come enjoy making a fairy terrarium as a family! All materials will be provided, but everyone is free to bring things from their own home and yard if they so desire! Take your time and when you are finished, take it home to put in your garden or window.

May 9th @ 10:30am Mother’s Day Craft
The Harwinton Women’s Club is coming back to the library to do another craft with the kids! This year they are making pop-up cards and tissue paper flowers for mom!
Ages 4-10. Please register. Spots fill up fast!
May 30th @ 10:30am Bubble Science
Come explore the magic of bubbles through cool science experiments! We are having Coolology back to our library for this awesome program.
What could be more fun than learning about bubbles? Children measure, experiment and explore the science behind making and blowing the best soap bubbles. Skills learned and phenomena explained by bubbles in this program include: light and color, chemical composition, surface tension, measurement, geometry and much more!
Ages 6-12. Please register.
June 20th @ 10:00am Build a Toolbox with Dad
Happy Father’s Day! Build and paint a wooden toolbox for or with dad!
This is a family craft, so parents are welcome (and deeply requested) to participate! We will also be using only washable paint to protect everyone’s clothes and our new activity room floor.

We will be celebrating with ice cream, crafts, real Harwinton artifacts provided by the Harwinton Historical Society, and outside games! Come grab your Summer Reading bag and enjoy the festivities!
Drop-in anytime between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. For all ages. No registration required.
July 10th All Day Building Day
Our activity room will be open all day for some fun building! Enjoy Legos, Lincoln Logs, Duplo’s and more! Come relax with us and enjoy hands on fun!

Come meet Moana for a very special storytime! Register for either session and enjoy songs, a craft, and each family will be able to have a meet and greet with Moana so hugs can be shared and pictures can be taken.

July 15th @ 5:30pm Colonial Kids
Come explore colonial times with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. Explore real artifacts, try on real clothes and make your own hornbook to take home. This is a great educational opportunity and will show kids how far we’ve come in 250 years!

White Memorial is coming to visit our library again with their live animals! Learn about the cool features of different creatures here in New England.

Get your STEM on with Coolology and perform some incredible science experiments dealing with electricity! Use static electricity with balloons and
wool! Make your hair stand up on end! Choose one of the two sessions and go hands on with science!

August 5th from 6pm-7:30pm Summer Reading Finale
For the first half hour of our finale we will have our pizza party! Eat pizza while kids receive their t-shirts. Beginning at 6:30pm Michelle Urban will be entertaining us with music, props, and dance! Last year she brought her giant parachute, lollipop drums, and colorful scarves!
This program will be on our front lawn weather permitting, so bring a blanket or chair!
