Children’s Story Times

Holiday Storytimes
First Three Weeks of December

Tuesday’s @ 10am or Thursday’s @ 10am
Ages 0-6.
Read one book, sing songs, and learn about the different holidays!
Week One: Kwanzaa
Week Two: Hanukkah
Week Three: Christmas
Holiday storytimes are drop in! Ages 0-5.

Homeschool storytimes
Every other Wednesday @ 2pm

December 3rd + 17th
January 14th + 28th
February 11th + 25th

For ages 6-10.
One of our local homeschooling mom’s, Andrea Fitzpatrick, is providing a homeschooler storytime for homeschoolers in the area! All are welcome, of course, whether they are homeschooled or not!
Parents must attend with their kids.
No need to register.

December 13th @ 10:00am – Mrs. Claus Storytime

Come meet Mrs. Claus in our annual Mrs. Claus Storytime!! Mrs. Claus will read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and then we will move to our craft tables. During craft time, each child will receive a very special gift when they come up to meet her and take a picture with her.
Please register each child separately. Space is limited.

December 15th – 23rd – Catch Me if You Can Scavenger Hunt

Find all the gingerbread people in our children’s section and get a prize! Come any time we are open between Dec. 15th – 23rd.
For all kids and teens!

January 17th @ 11:00am – Family Pizza Party

CT Productions is coming to the library to help us make pizzas! Come to the library for lunch and bring the family! Pick whatever toppings you choose and while it cooks, play some fun pizza related games.
All families welcome! Please register. Space is limited.

January 24th @ 10:00am – Teddy Bear Sleepover

Drop your teddies, or whatever stuffy you like, off at the library on Thursday or Friday. Then, come Saturday morning and discover what your lovies were doing all night long at the library!
There will be some munchkins and hot cocoa to eat. We will do some crafts, read a story, and watch a PowerPoint of all the pictures the librarians took!
Ages 2-10. Please register.

February 1st – 28th – Valentine’s Coloring Contest

Welcome to our Valentine’s themed coloring contest! The coloring pages will be released here as pdfs, and as physical copies at the library beginning February 1st. Return by the 28th to compete in your age category for a prize!

February 21st @ 11am + 12pm – Elsa Storytime (2 Sessions)

Come to the library and meet Elsa! Read some stories, sing a few songs, then do some crafts! Each family will get the change to meet Elsa, hug her, and take pictures with her, while everyone is working on their crafts.
Ages 0-8. Please register each child separately.

Harwinton Public Library offers monthly programs for teens, as well as young adult books, audiobooks, games, and graphic novels.

December 17th @ 6pm – Christmas Party

Christmas party!!!!! Come play some chill games and win prizes! Do a craft, listen to music, and hang out with friends!
Play Christmas song bingo, make a gingerbread house snow globe, and do the snowball challenge!
Ages 11+. Please register.

Do you like doodling? Come to the library and learn how to make zentangles! Decorate flower pots, bookmarks, and coasters, then take home your finished products.
