When lawmakers seek to review a list of books\, librarians find themselves on the frontlines of a national battle. Across the U.S.\, librarians face the impact of uniting against library collection standards that include restrictions on race-related and LGBTQIA+ content. Drawing on historical context\, The Librarians explores the broader implications for education and public life.\nOur afternoon book discussion will meet immediately after to discuss the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. DESCRIPTION:Presenter Nancy Roman returns to lead this 2 hour Pen & Ink with Watercolor workshop. Learn the “Line & Wash” technique\, popular in book illustrations\, which combines a pen and ink drawing with a watercolor overlay. Participants will practice the technique first\, then complete a window box portrait working from photo inspirations. This FREE program is open to ages 12 and up. No experience is needed and all supplies will be provided. Even if you’ve never considered yourself “artistic” you will be amazed at the beautiful results Nancy can help you produce.
