Clear Day Thunder: Rescuing the American Chestnut (Documentary screening)

Join us to screen this new documentary film that tells the story of passionate citizen scientists and researchers working to restore this ecologically and economically important species.
At the turn of the 20th century, a deadly blight accidentally imported into the U.S. from Asia devastated the American Chestnut. Within a span of only two generations, the tree was nearly extinct. Through this film we hope to learn how others are working to bring this iconic and important tree back into our future. Run time: 53 minutes. A member of the Chestnut Society will attend and be available to answer questions, following the film.
